Doing The Job Right - From Start To Finish
I’ve been painting since I was 17, and I take pride in doing things the right way from start to finish. I’m detailed in my quotes and keep clients informed throughout the process. I never skip steps—every project is carefully washed, scraped, primed, caulked, and prepared for proper adhesion.
Whether that means brushing by hand instead of spraying, or taking extra time at the end of a job to complete touch-ups and leave your home clean, I focus on delivering straight lines and a flawless finish that lasts.
A Local Family Business Rooted in the Santa Cruz Mountains
When you hire Fine Edge Painting, you’re supporting a local family. My wife Tara and I live in the Forest Lakes neighborhood of Felton with our two children. Tara teaches photography at Willow Glen High School in San Jose and assists with photo editing for our color consultation services. Our son Julian and daughter Adderley attend SLVE.
Where I Learned the Trade
Fine Edge Painting of Santa Cruz, California was inspired by Fine Edge Painting in Naperville, Illinois, where I first learned to paint from my close friend and longtime mentor, Ryan Groharing. Ryan grew up painting with his dad, and I joined the team as a teenager in 2000. I worked with him for nearly ten years before moving to California in 2010.
That time shaped how I work today—taking preparation seriously, paying attention to detail, and making sure the job is done right from start to finish.
